Welcome to the workout!
For working voiceover talent, the ability to consistently book work boils down to performance. If your practice informs your performance, then proper preparation is key. Working out and refining the basics is essential. Equally important is the need to build new skills. Trends change, so it’s essential to evolve your read to be as contemporary as possible. So, let’s work out!
Each week, Marc Preston will guide a fun and informative workout that helps you develop and evolve your read. Connect with fellow VO talent from around the country in a small group (10 participants). The VO “gym”/online Zoom meeting acts as your chance to stay limber, practice and get professional critiques from a talent with thirty years experience, as well as seventeen years of coaching hundreds of new and established talent.
Our growth and progress is not just about the mastery of our performance. We have to stay current on industry trends, as well as evolving business practices and technical considerations. Each workout is a two hour intensive that combines practice and critique, as well as discussion of a “hot topic” in VO. Discussion and Q&A are an essential part of each workout.
So, come have some fun each week, build your VO muscle and keep your momentum rolling!
- This event has been created for Australian VoiceOver Talent. Even though anyone is welcome to sign up to audit the event, all participant slots are reserved only for those living in Australia. If there are still slots available the day of the event, then anyone is welcome to book. If you live outside of Australia, please contact Marc prior to registering as a participant, so as to confirm availability of space.
- A Zoom link and password to the event will be emailed after your registration confirmation. Please make sure to download the Zoom app for your desktop or phone (www.zoom.us) Also, please have your audio and video settings set up before you join the meeting. We have a lot of ground to cover each week and need to hit the ground running.
- A link to each week’s practice scripts will be emailed prior to each workout.
- If our group fills up each week, then Marc will do his best to add an additional workout on another day (time permitting)
